Salt and pepper mills

More from the past, and that other place.

I like making these, I need to do some more. I use the Crushgrind mechanism, they are different now.

I believe that the only critical dimensions of a mill are the inside dimensions, that leaves a lot of options for the outside.

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Hairy, those are fancy, and with a wonderful finish. I like the one with the stand too just like a canon.

Nice, Hairy! I might have to make a pepper cannon for the dining room table now.

May you have the day you deserve!

Now look what you've done. I have to make a few of these, they are just fantastic. Funny how things that were made long ago get new views when we move them over. I've not seen these before, it's hard to view everyone's gallery, but I'm glad I saw them this time.

I was at the other place since 2017 and I never saw these. They look so professional and the mushrooms are over the top. Great work.

Thanks you all!!

I did these in 2014. I'm moving some projects here.

Hairy. I forgot to ask. How did you carve the top of the mushroom? And what tools did you use and what type of paint did you use for the black?

I started carving lately and I know it takes skill to carve like that.

James McIntyre

How did you carve the top of the mushroom

Drew a design freehand and shaped it with a Dremel and various bits

what type of paint did you use for the black?

Black and white Valspar rattle can spray paint and Minwax spray poly, anything for wood should work
