Cutting Board

I made this cutting board for a friend who did some AC work for me and would not take any payment. It is  7/8" x 12" x 15"  and made from curly maple and walnut and finished with Walrus Oil cutting board wax.

Nice, Jim!

May you have the day you deserve!

Great Cutting Board Jim......A cutting Board has got to be on my project list very soon.

I like the two Strips/Stripes that run the length of the Board and run the whole length from the hand hole. (that in itself was a great idea)
Are the Strips the Walnut?   One of the attractive things of Gluing boards together to give appeal and detail to the piece, is when looking at the Board where the hand holes are ...This is where the Magic begins.  Non Wood Working Folk would scratch their heads and say..."How the Heck did he get the Stripe to be in the Hand Hole as well" ?

Great Project Jim!!!!!
Regards......Cliff.
Nice way to thank someone for their assistance, nice board.
Nice board, sweet deal on the AC work for you and friend.

Thanks you all for the nice comments!! Dan is fishing now so I can't give it to him until next week.

Hi Cliff. The strips are walnut. I originally made a  7/8" wide hand hole but I thought that might be too tight for a bigger hand so I cupped a radius on top of the holes. I think that looks better anyway and used it on the next board.

Nice gesture Jim, good looking cutting board. Sometimes when someone helps you with a project you can't do yourself, it's nice when you can give them a gift they can't do for themselves.
