Pecan Charcuterie Board

I brought this piece of pecan home from Arizona and it was so warped from corner to corner that if I tried to flatten one side to run it through the planer, it would have finished at 1/4" thick. SO, I cut it in 3 pieces, flattened each  one individually and the glued them together and planed the new flatter board and it finished at 3/4" x 12 1/4" x 18". It is finished with Walrus Oil cutting board wax.

Nice save with the warped board, can't see the glue lines - great work.

Pretty wood!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Very attractive color of wood, worth the effort to save it.

Thanks, Eric. This is the darkest pecan wood I have ever gotten from the mill and it sure moved a lot. This last lot of trees came from California!

Ahhh, expat nuts!
If it’s from California, it’s defiantly nuts. Check your wallet after you work with it…

Pecan is a beautiful wood.   Great Colour and Grain.

All it needs is some Salami and Cheese and a 6 pack of VB.

NIce Board Jim!!!
