I made this music stand about seven years ago. Sometimes I like to play elsewhere in the house and have been using the top piece of a very flimsy metal stand. I finally decided to make a decent tabletop stand.
There are examples of more complex stands that allow the angle to be changed. My original stand allows the angle and the height to be changed. I've never changed either, so I decided to keep this one simple. If I ever want a different angle, I'll just make another version of the stick that props it open.
I made this from cherry and finished it with Danish Oil.
For extra credit, can you name this tune? That second measure is a real bastard to get right!

I wish I had started playing guitar when I was younger. I only started really trying a few years ago as a pretty-old guy. But, I enjoy it. The resources available online are great.
I did take music lessons when I was a kid. It sounds like a joke, but I took accordion lessons from a Catholic nun! I went to the convent for the lessons. I guess it was an Italian thing.
