Wedding Gift from a Toymaker
My neighbours young bloke got married a fortnight ago.
While weren't unable to attend the wedding a gift of a couple of handmade boards is coming their way.
One in Aussie hardwood and the other Camphor Laurel; both finished with Kustom Grit food grade polishes (Step#1 - 50,000G & Step#2 100,000G].
Thank you the local furniture manufacturer "Living Timber, Penrith" for the beautiful timber.
Papa Smurf and Handy Smurf were well pleased with the gifts.

I like that Laurel, it looks like it has issues. I have done some of my coolest work with wood that had issues, or at least looked like it. We have been having a run of Grandchildren, and a few Great Grandkids of friends getting married lately, doing some of the same myself.
Boards look good.  One for the bride and one for the groom.   Equally armed if they have a spat.😁

Beautiful gifts!  The wood used is really eye catching and I'm guessing hard to fully capture in pictures.  Could you share how you attached the end pieces on the first board?

Thank you sir.
The large one piece board is Camphor Laurel which is a designated weed tree, though woodworkers love it for the colours, figure and patination of the timber.
There are so many beautiful Aussie hardwoods, that board was made up from offcuts; glued with titebond 3 along with biscuiting. Works a treat.
I sand the boards to 320/400 the use the Kustom Grit set #1 (50000G) & set #2 (100000G) food grade polishing paste.
