Woodpecker Whirlygig

This is a reconstruction of a whirlygig I made with 2 woodpeckers - one on each side of a tree limb. One of the birds broke in the wind and it was sitting in my shop for 2 years. Then I saw one on You tube where the bird was pecking at a beer can so I  repurpose a lot of the parts       ( Blade, shaft, cam,  bearing mount, and woodpecker) to make this one. I put a finishing nail in his beak to make a sound when he hits the can and not destroy the beak.. It seems to take a lot of wind to turn the prop because the beak is against the can which has a spring under it to  keep it lifted so it rings. Well at least it is out of my shop!

That’s awesome! Nicely done.

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

That looks like something you would put close to your most annoying neighbor's house to drive them nuts.  🤪

Bet the neighbors like the noise!

Looks professional.

Pretty slick, neat project for little kids who would be intrigued for hours. The best part of this project -  some of the comments prior mine.
Pottz has the best - beer drinking etc. etc., but like Lazyman, I have a few neighbors I'd like to make listen to this day and night.
if my neighbor had that thing banging away id get my pellet gun and adjust the volumn, if ya know what i mean 😲
