Cherry Cane
This is a gift I made for my sister's 85th birthday. When I visited her last month I noticed that she now used a cane to help her get along. I told her I'd make her a light weight personalized one when I got home. This one is 1 " diameter and 32 1/2" long. It weighs 9 ounces and is finished with Danish oil and is 3- stage buffed and waxed.
I did two 10" fluted regions on it. I increased the range of my fluting jig from 9"-12 " i n 2016 and it came in handy for this job. I added some photos of the making of the shaft below:

im 66 ill need one soon jim, can you help ?
working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment,somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.
I have a nice one made of oak, from Ukraine. I also have a steel one which is good for hitting a perp in the fork...I'd really rather not needing the cane, tbh.
