Been meaning to make a mallet for quite some time. I was on vacation this week and was finally able to get out and do a few small projects in the shop.
I also just got a cheapy Harbor Freight mini lathe and the mallet handle was my first attempt at turning. I think it came out pretty good.
Out of all the projects I did this week, this was my favorite. My wife just shook her head every time she came out and saw me working on this. She just didn’t get it.

Shop made mallets are the best. I love mine. Yours is very beautiful. And yeah, a lot of people don’t get it, but when you get it, it’s pretty special.
