February is all groundhogs and hearts!

My twist on the February 2nd Groundhog’s Day folklore, is that if he sees his shadow we get six more weeks of winter and if he doesn’t, then it’s only six more weeks until spring! Every year, that makes me chuckle and, well, my world is a better place.

And on a woodworking-note, “how much wood would a woodchuck chuck, if a woodchuck could chuck wood”? And that is why Groundhog’s Day is all about woodworking!

As for Valentine’s, well, that is about love and besides our soul-mate love, we all have our love of woodworking. We brought some wood home, yesterday, in the backseat of the car and, oh, the aroma. I LOVE that smell!

And why do you love woodworking? Share the love here in this blog.

Debbie,

My take on Groundhog’s Day is that if he sees his shadow, we only have 6 more weeks of winter instead of the usual 12 to 16 weeks!

crossing my fingers!!
we just had +14C (instead of a below 0) so it’s going to be really, really hard to go back to winter weather

Back in the 50’s when I was a small boy, I remember grandfather’s (Papa) pickup truck always smelled like sawdust and bananas. I still love both smells.
He built complete houses, I don’t remember ever seeing power tools.

Thanks for the memory jogger Miss Debbie !!
