The areas behind the settees on my sailboat are really useful catch-alls but have always been a bit unsightly (photo two). 
Last winter I decided to remedy the situation by covering up the mess, always a better idea than actually tidying it up ….. and I got to do some marquetry.
The frames and doors are teak, the marquetry is mounted on 1/8” plywood and if you look closely you might spot some little tweeter speakers in the forward end of each side. The bigger speakers are behind the aft louvered doors.

The early bird gets the worm but its the second mouse that gets the cheese.

Great solution that looks great.
