Kitchen Storage

I built this cabinet in the summer of 2021 to replace an old sideboard in our kitchen and create more efficient storage. It is a basic plywood cabinet with full extension slides and fabric covered panels in the doors. The top is book matched walnut veneer. It is simple but it fits our decor and does the job.

Perfect in the space.  How do you do the fabric covered panels?  Not sure I've ever seen that.  Looks great!
Simple - efficient.
And,oh, to have drawers that open and close easily.

A nice cabinet and it appears to be well built; the doors look wonderful. Well done. What is that contraption on the right side of the 3rd photo?

nothing wrong with simple paul. looks very nice.

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Thanks, simple is good sometimes.

BB1, the fabric is my wife’s contribution. It’s just spray glued to a plywood panel and then assembled as any other panel.

Debbie, sticky drawers were the downfall of the sideboard that got replaced.😁

Eric, that is a chevalet, plywood version.

I would love to be a fly on the wall when you're gluing veneer.  I have that same glue pot for hide glue, but I've never spent enough time to figure out how to make it work.  Usually, the glue is hardening long before I get the surface covered.  That is definitely an art.  As are your creations.

That's very interesting.  Neat way to customize a piece.
Do you put any "sealer" over the top of the material after its attached?
The fabric is such a neat accent. Great way to compliment the piece.

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

What is the finish on the base?  Like the color.
Again Thanks!

Ross, the most common cause of that problem is that your glue is too thick.

BB1, we have done this several times and not used any sealer but it’s a good idea, something like Scotchguard I would think.

CWW, the cabinet itself is just painted with WB paint and sealed with WB poly.
The kick space is dark Arborite (laminate).
