Heater Handle

A few years ago I bough this heater that mounts on a  propane cylinder. I use it on a 20# tank and put wheels under it to move it around to where I'm working in the barn. It save firing up the wood furnace in there for a short job on the lathe or the mill. Well I'm getting old and having to bend down and drag that thing around had to be improved so I made this handle out of 5/8" maple plywood. It is 5" wide at the top and about 16" long and allows me to just grab it and move it with no bending.
I sprayed it with clear enamel.

Perfect at-the-tool butt warmer, I'd like one of those for the same reasons, hate warming up the entire shop for 1 hour of tooling around.
Great idea!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Great idea, would also be handy to just move the bottles around without stress on the fingers from the narrow metal hand hold. Thanks for showing.  Mike
Hi Jim....Excellent Idea...Certainly very practical.
Living in a hot Climate,  its never real cold in my shop.  But I think that in Southern Parts of Australia it would be a great addition to the Shop.

Thank you all for the nice comments. It save a lot of bending and I used it twice last week when it was in the 40's here early in the morning.

Hi Bruce. If you buy one of these and it does not stay lit just wire around the tip over switch. They are bad right out of the box. I was going to take this one back to the flea market where I bought when my neighbor cam over and said he has one at home and the switch was bad right out of the box too. Easy fix and it works very well!

Thanks for the insight Jim. It always seems to be the case that these things have "N" interlocks and disabling a failed one still leaves N-1 to vex one later down the road.
Hi Bruce. I think this is pretty simple and had no integrated circuit to bite me a later date. It was probably at the flea market because it would not work for someone do they packed it up and it looked new when I bought it. it is nice to have the knowledge of the neighbor to save me from returning it.

Cheers, Jim
