This garden bench is made for my wife and it has been on the project list for some time.
A while ago I spotted this lift of pine at the lumber yard and just had to pick some 2×10 that looked too good to leave behind .
This project gave me a good opportunity to work with some hand tools along with power tools and it turned out to be a lot fun using tools that I made and .
The design was not set in stone just came of a sketch I had made but got changed as the project progressed which is a good and bad way but I consider this a proto type which always take some fine tuning of components .
Well it’s done and my wife loves it and that is the main thing .
A few more coats of finish and it will be placed in it’s spot in the garden .

A very nice bench of an unusual design. I like it a lot. The only thing I would have diferent would be to round out the corners of the cutouts on the back, seat and the spreader in the front. You have a curvy bench with square cutouts. Just my opinion. Dont get me wrong, I really like it.
Looks like you had a blast with your newly made hand tools. Aren’t they fun!!

Very nice bench! Wow .. beautiful workmanship.. The wife must be really happy with this one.
Fun with the shop made tools!
They say firewood that you cut yourself warms you twice.
So I guess it can also be said that tools that you make yourself you get to enjoy twice ……. and then continue to enjoy long after the firewood is gone. :-)
Sweet bench. Take some time there to smell the roses and listen to the birds. It should be a nice break from the shop now and then.
The early bird gets the worm but its the second mouse that gets the cheese.
Now that has to be one of the coolest benches i’ve seen in a long time. that is a true work of art. i vote for editors choice on this bench. Very nice. i hope your chest is sticking out on this one. Very well done!!!

Congratulations on your 2nd place with your beautiful bench in the garden bling awards Klaus. It was a very close race with the bridge and either would have been a very worthy winner.
