Got a little shoptime in today and made a bow tie key shaped bottle opener for a buddy who is also a woodworking fanatic ,I think he will appreciate the shape .
The opener is made from cherry and can open both types of beer bottle caps .
I made the one end in such a way that you push down rather then lift the opener as this will make the bottle neck face away from you in case the contents want to escape while opening and the other end is for the twist off and you simply push the end onto the cap and twist and when the cap is removed you push it out with your finger using the hole in the top which also makes a good way to hang the opener .
The opener is made from cherry and is about 6 1/2” L x 1 7/8 W x 5/8” with two 1 1/4” holes ,one for the crown cap has a ramp with a metal strip housed in a saw cut in the end of the body and glued in with CA glue and the twist off hole is lines with a rubber strip also glued in with CA glue .

Nice one Klaus.
I have to approve of your choice in beer. :-)

The early bird gets the worm but its the second mouse that gets the cheese.

Cheers Klaus!
Miller is cool.

I am sure your friend will like it.
