My first "woodworking project"

This was my first woodworking project and what got me started in this wonderful hobby. It was completed soon to be 2 years ago, but this is a recent photo from the back of my sons house. Thanks for looking.

It looks neat.
Very well built for first project..

Yes, for a first, very impressive. Well done.

Feels pretty good, eh?

Nice being able to pull off doing what you’d have to pay the pro’s significant bucks to do.

Nice contrasts and details.

Thank you guys for the kind words.

Very nice Jack !!
I like the gate & rails.
Makes it nice if your trying to keep little ones in, or out, but still has an open feel to it .

-- Jaybird

That’s one of the nicest decks I’ve seen. Good job on the details. It’s really spectacular. Did you work from plans or did you design it yourself?

-- Losing fingers since 1969

What a great start on your woodworking hobby. Very nicely done!

-- Mike, an American living in Norway

Thank you guys. I did design it Brian fitting the jut out on the house, the superstructure and putting the posts in pockets along the side. I was sweating it all the way but it turned out ok. Thanks.

It looks good and your son’s getting lot’s of good use out of it.

Nicely done! I used that ballast er system a few years back, it really adds to the railing with the black pipes. Great job.
