This is a leaf that i carved with my angle grinder and sanded to a fine finish. I donate this sort of sculpture every year for a great cause. The piece is auctioned away to a lucky bidder. The wood is yellow heart. I airbrushed some rust color to the outside of the leaf to add some additional color. The second photo at the bottom has a penny to show scale.
Hope you guys like this..

Fantastic work Ellen. I’m an American, but I still love it.

No offence intended (I am Canadian, after all, we don’t do offence unless we’re named Ford and mayor of Toronto) but when we Canadians see a maple leaf…well…it’s mandated in our sort of constitution that we get to brag a bit…Woot! Canada…Maple Leafs…yay!
Hockey joke : Leafs suck…Go Canucks!

Very elegant Ellen!

Very nice!
A lot of subtle details. The air brushing enhanced it well.

It’s nice to be reminded of this beautiful work of art! Thanks for sharing here and welcome.
