Well I’m back home in Canada and after getting a bunch of household maintenance jobs out of the way and spending a very long time getting the surfaces perfectly filled, I have finally started on the finishing. It won’t be long now!

Here are a few shots and a couple of videos I made today. At this point there are only two or three bodying sessions in the polish but it is coming up really well.

This is the first trial fit of the burgundy pig suede that will line the drawers.

I hope to get this posted shortly but thought a few sneak peaks were in order.

The french polish seems to make the color more vibrant.

Really beautiful. I think in going to try French polishing the next box I make. I’ve been thinking about it a lot lately. It looks pretty simple – just very time consuming.

This thing needs to go to a gallery in Manhattan. You should be properly rewarded for such outstanding work.

The color and shading really pop with your beautifully done French polish. Whatever time you use to get the finishing job done is well worth the effort with this project Paul. I love the pigskin too.

Just completely beautiful. The color pop is just unbelievable. You should be very proud of that creation. I hope your piece lasts for centuries for family or someone else to enjoy.
